The elevation change of this site created a great opportunity for a multilevel patio. The western exposure created intense heat in the later part of the day, so a pergola was constructed to provide shade when it is most needed. The small stone column fountain provides the trickling sound of water that is amplified by a hidden echo chamber, and creates a warm intimate setting for dining and entertaining. On the lower level of the patio, a fire pit was designed as a focal point that allowed the functionality of the space to remain adaptable.
